I ve already gotten the 2 stones in fire red and i go to the pc to link up with the link cable in both games but when i hook them up it says click A to confirm and when i do nothing happens the ruby game just says awaiting link up

I have a ring my mom gave me that has 8 diamonds and 11 rubies in it. I wanted to know if there is some way I could take the stones out and have them set into a different band in a different style? I don t even know how to ask the question correctly- but I think that gets the jist of what I need to do. I m mostly looking to make the ring she gave me into an engagement ring but I don t want to use the ring my mom gave me- just the stones. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.
